1. Who are we?
CampusFrance is a service provided by the Embassy of France to American citizens as well as foreigners who are studying and/or living in the United States and wish to pursue their higher studies in France for a period of more than 3 months. Please note that those who are granted a scholarship must still process their applications through CampusFrance before going to the French consulate for the visa.
Our application file is the mandatory preliminary step in applying for a visa to study in France as well as a resource for students to utilize in deciding where and what to study.
Remarks:
The granting of visas is the sole responsibility of the consulate of France. CampusFrance cannot be held responsible if a visa request is denied.
2. Our services
CampusFrance’ file is the preliminary step to the French visa application process. CampusFrance will assess a candidate’s academic suitability and inform the French Consulate of its conclusion. This assessment will take into account the following criteria: past academic results, consistency of future academic projects with past studies, consistent success during past studies, and presentation of solid academic plans and motivation. CampusFrance is also in charge of verifying diplomas, certificates, and all other documents presented by candidates, as well as evaluating candidates’ French speaking skills in some cases.
Remarks:
We recommend you read the different sections of the site, where you will find useful information (training, grants, procedures, practical aspects of life in France ...) We also recommend that you download the user guide that will guide you through the set up of your CampusFrance file.
3. How Much Does CampusFrance Cost?
The cost of CampusFrance is $70 for study abroad students (those who are going through an exchange program through their home university) and $140 for independent students (those who are applying directly to a school in France). Please send a MONEY ORDER for MAISON FRANCAISE - CampusFrance, with your name and CampusFrance reference number (starts with “US———”) printed on it when you send the required documents to CampusFrance.
Campusfrance fees are separate from the visa processing fees. For more information concerning the visa processing fees it is recommended that you visit the Consulate’s website for your region of the United States. Students exempt from repaying CampusFrance fees : You do not have to pay CampusFrance fees again if you are enrolled in a semester-long program and decide to follow the same program for another semester during the same academic year. You also do not have to repay these fees if you are enrolled in a year-long program and decide to follow this same program for another year. In these cases, you may reactivate your online account by sending a fax to CampusFrance explaining your situation. You will then need to update your personal information online and reapply for a visa covering the duration of your studies.
