For students that hold or will hold a French baccalauréat and/or are a citizen of a member state of the European Union and wish to apply to a degree program in France, the application process will differ from that of non-European students.

What is Parcoursup?

Parcoursup is an online common application for admission to the first year of undergraduate higher education in France. 

You will use the Parcoursup application if you are:

  1. A candidate or holder of a French or European baccalauréat (you went to a French international school, or a lycée français, outside of France) 
    AND/OR
  2. A citizen of the European Union, the European Economic Area, Switzerland, Monaco, Andorra

Application Deadlines for Parcoursup 

December 20, 2024
Opening of the website (check the available programs for the 2025-2026 academic year)

March 8, 2025
Deadline to submit an application on the Parcoursup website 

June 1, 2025 - July 13, 2025
Admission decisions are made by institutions and students finalize admission decisions

Studying in France After the Bac

Guide to Studying in France after the Baccalauréat

If you graduated from a French international school and obtained a French Baccalauréat, you will apply to French universities using the Parcoursup platform (instead of Etudes en France).

Even if you are a US citizen, if you hold a French baccalauréat, you will apply through Parcoursup to gain admission as a first-year undergraduate in a French institution.

If you graduated from a French international school, and would like to pursue your higher education in France, you may be eligible for the Bourse Excellence-Major. Over 200 students each year are awarded generous scholarships that cover their tuition and living expenses while studying in France.
