What attracted you to France?
I have always had a love for traveling and knew that after college, I wanted to continue my education. Going to France for graduate school seemed like a great way to do both. I had visited France once while in college and decided I wanted to live there. I am also extremely passionate about sustainability and knew that there were great programs to study this in France. I attended Ecolé polytechnique de de l'université de Tours for Urban Planning and Sustainability.
What did you enjoy while there?
There were so many things that I absolutely loved about living in France. My favorite was how easy it was to travel throughout the country and see different areas. I’m a big foodie so I loved trying the local cuisines in each place I visited. Thanks to the food and the views of the sea, La Rochelle was one of my favorite places I’ve ever been to. My program also gave me the opportunity to make lifelong friends from all over the world. Several of us were able to go on trips together and spend most nights (before lockdown) in Place Plumereau.
What are you doing now?
After finishing graduate school, I returned to the US and have since been working at a winery. I love getting to be outdoors much of my work week and how much I’ve learned about wines. I hope to visit France to see friends and more of the wineries and vineyards with my new appreciation for the industry.
