What is your favorite thing about studying in France?

My favorite thing is experiencing things with other students here and the international network. There are students in my class from Vietnam, China, Egypt, Columbia, from all over the world who I’ve been able to meet and exchange stories with. The diversity and learning the language has been a great opportunity.

How do you envision using your education from France in the future?

The goal right now is to get my Master’s here in France in Sports Management. Upon getting my degree, I would like to work for a company that oversees sports management in France.

Briefly describe your experience in France during the COVID-19 outbreak and, looking back, how that impacted your experience or how you reflect on your experience now that it was cut short.

At the peak I went to the countryside and visited a French family. They spoke only French, and being French, they loved to sit at the table for dinner for a long period of time. As a city guy, it was difficult to spend 3 hours at the table, with people talking in French back and forth and not knowing what they were talking about. Plus, being in the countryside the pace of life was a lot slower. But, I was able to pick up new vocabulary and really learn what it was like to be in a French family, which I wouldn’t have had the opportunity in Paris. It was a positive experience, especially since my French classes came to a halt at that time.

Any advice for future students in France after COVID-19 or hopeful messages to share?

Studying in France is what you make of it. Any student that comes here has the opportunity to do great things. Find your niche, learn the language, and have fun no matter how long you’re here for. There is a strong culture here, enjoy it.
