Why did you decide to study in France?
I decided to study in France because I wanted to travel outside of the US and also improve my foreign Language skills and this was a way to achieve both of my goals.
How has your experience in France contributed to your personal and professional goals?
After studying abroad in France I had so much fun that I have decided I would like to return and teach English after I graduate! I made many connections over there and one of my friends introduced me to the TAPIF teaching program, which allows native English speakers to get experience teaching as an assistant in various French schools.
Can you tell us a little anecdote or memory of your stay in France?
I remember getting up one day to find out that it was snowing….. a lot lol. So naturally I assumed that school would be canceled because I’m from Rock Hill South Carolina where we cancel everything when we see the slightest bit of snow, however the French are different. I checked my email but there was no cancellation, so i got dressed and went to go catch the tram. Come to find out the trams weren’t running, but i was still expected to attend class but the school was a thirty minute walk, so I grabbed by thickest coat and started walking. I'm grateful for experiences like this one because it pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to embrace the French culture!
In one sentence, for you, what was unique about your experience of studying in France?
My experience was unique because I got the chance to meet, converse, share and learn with people from all over the world!
